Belgrade is the capital and the largest city of Serbia. It is located at the confluence of the 2 rivers: Sava and Danube. 1.7 million people live in the city, and it is considered one of the oldest continuously inhabited cities in the world. Its roots go back to the 6th millennium BC, but traces of the first settlements surrounding Belgrade go 20,000 years back. Due to its turbulent history, Belgrade was destroyed 5 times in the last 100 years.
