The Art of Speed
Morten Qvale
Morten Qvale’s fascination with cars began in childhood, chasing races in Norway with his brother and collecting every car magazine they could find. Graham Hill was their hero, and years later, photographing Hill’s son Damon in Monaco felt like destiny fulfilled.
His journey began with a 1969 Jaguar E-Type, whose sculptural lines revealed that cars could be art. Since then, Qvale has been invited into Ferrari’s inner world, flown to the Monaco Grand Prix with Jane Seymour, joined the Mille Miglia through Italy, photographed icons at Goodwood, and stood just inches from Formula One cars blasting past at 300 km per hour in Las Vegas.
The Art of Speed reflects these experiences. Qvale invites viewers to experience the roar, elegance, and madness, presenting cars not only as machines but as dreams on wheels. Through his photography, he seeks to stop time just long enough to share the thrill.
